"Oh, beauty, ever ancient and ever new." - Saint Augustine
Well a new season of CAR BOOT SALES has begun and I am REALLY trying hard not to bring too many lovely things home with me this year - which is something I find SO difficult to do!
I am afraid that a few things have already slipped through my I really haven't got the space safety net.
It was way back in July of last year that I first blogged about my dilemma caused by my Magpie nature! - See this post - at the time I was certain that I had come up with a solution that would allow me to continue collecting and adding to my abundant stash of treasures . . .
But as you can see, I didn't follow the idea through.
Instead, I was harsh and purged all but the most glorious and loved of my treasures and promptly packed them carefully away back in the boxes, stacked them in a big cupboard and forgot about them.
Until I started treasure hunting again. . .
"One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach; one can collect only a few,
and they are more beautiful if they are few." - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
and they are more beautiful if they are few." - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
So, the situation has come back around again - as situations tend to do when you don't deal with them!
Two choices - I shall either have to totally ban myself from bringing any more things home! - (bursts into floods of tears!) or perhaps I should reconsider my earlier idea and occasionally post a treasure here in the hope that someone may fall in love with it and want it to come and live with them!
What do you think?

Thanks SO much TK, I am glad you know how it feels to love beautiful things. :-)
Good advice - "Do what makes you happy" - yes, that is so true!
Thanks TK ! (( hug )) x
I'm no better :(
If I like it..I bring it home...
there is always a place....but sometimes something else has to go
So you are another one ! Well at least I realise now that I am not alone. :-)
Nice to see you Suz,
I'm a bit different. Sometimes I see something, I want it, I can resist.
But what's the price for my resistance?
Kind of disaffection!
But this emotion changes soon after when I realize what I really want :-)
Hi Michaela :-)
Reading your comment made me realise something that I had never really noticed before! I CAN resist things in normal shops, no matter how lovely. . .well mostly! ;-)
It is just things that I class as real bargains or unusual finds that I have trouble leaving.
Though I am SO much better than I used to be, in the last few weeks at my car boot sales I have igmored at least twenty things that a couple of years ago I would have bought home! lol
Good to see you and thanks for the comment. :-)
Congratulation to your resistance :-))
Probably I'm not yet at the point where you already are. I'm still working on my indecision. Because sometimes it really can make me feel uncomfortable.
Nevertheless, I wish you that your next car boot sale visit is going to be successful too (lots of great findings).
Have a nice day.
Michaela
It's really hard to say no to beautiful things, especially when this beautiful things will make you happy, just keep whatever your doing for as long as it can bring joy and happiness to your self.
